Blog Post #3
Compose a blog post of 3-5 paragraphs that presents a call to action related to your campaign topic. Is there an upcoming event or good cause in which you think people should get involved? Is there an activity you want your audience to try? Maybe a contest you can run? Is there something your audience could create and submit to you?
Begin the post by making a call to action and providing the details. Then you should explain why this is significant or important to you. You are encouraged to cite news articles or websites to provide factual evidence. Try creating a hashtag or joining an already-created one to help spread your message. The more specific and well-reasoned your argument is, the more interesting and useful it will be to your reader. Grammar and spelling count. Think about adding a visual, such as a video or animated gif to your post (or on another social media platform) to illustrate your point. You could try interviewing somebody related to the cause or event and include quotes from the interview into your post. Engage your audience. Be authentic.
**Once your blog post is published, please post the web link in the comments section.
When your blog post is published, use your Twitter feed and other platform to advertise it. Use the analytic tools we have discussed in class to find the best times to post and then track your audience using Google Analytics.
Continue Engaging on Twitter
You should be regularly entering into conversations on Twitter and finding/following relevant users. When you advertise your blog post, include some of your more relevant followers in the tweet by adding their @names at the end of the tweet. This will help facilitate sharing and possibly increase traffic to your blog.
